Camila Monteiro graduated in Business Administration in Brazil, and has a Master in Marketing and Multimedia Communication in Spain. She has worked in large multinational companies, including Microsoft and Schlumberger, until she started working for the environmental sector in 2005. She spent 10 years working the Brazilian Biodiversity Fund (Funbio), a conservation trust fund (CTF), where she coordinated the secretariat of the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Environmental Funds (RedLAC) and a capacity building project for CTFs in LAC and Africa. In this period, Camila supported the creation of the Consortium of African Funds for the Environment (CAFE) and coordinated the secretariat of the Conservation Finance Alliance (CFA). Since she left Funbio, she has been working as an independent consultant, mainly with CTFs in Latin America. She is married, has two sons and is currently based in the UK.
