Samir Whitaker joined Zoological Society of London (ZSL) in 2018 as a business and biodiversity programme manager. His role involves leading ZSL’s Business and Biodiversity Programme and coordinating business engagement support to ZSL programmes and country offices. Working closely with ZSL’s Corporate Partnerships team, Samir is involved in developing and managing strategic partnerships with the corporate sector, mobilizing corporate partners to help ZSL achieve its conservation objectives.

Prior to joining ZSL, Samir worked on biodiversity management within the private sector, and subsequently on developing and managing business and biodiversity partnerships for BirdLife International.

Samir has a Master of Science in environmental chemistry and a Master of Philosophy in conservation leadership, focusing primarily on biodiversity offsets in the mining sector.
