For over 12 years, Adam Klauber has delivered environmental solutions for the built-environment. He leads the aviation practice for Rocky Mountain Institute / Carbon War Room. Accelerating air travel carbon reduction is his central focus, and that includes new ways for airports to help finance 2nd generation sustainable jet fuels. Before RMI/CWR he headed sustainable aviation for ICF advancing energy stewardship and climate resiliency tools for US airports. Earlier, he supported the FAA to improve agency energy efficiency and facility environmental performance. Adam has earned numerous awards including the US DOT departmental “sustainability leader,” and the Federal Executive award for “Creativity and Innovation.”

Whenever possible Adam heads to the backcountry with his family, and is a former National Outdoor Leadership School and Outward Bound Instructor. He has been a Kinship Conservation and Presidential Management Fellow. Adam has a master’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and an undergraduate degree from Hobart College. He has earned numerous awards including the US DOT departmental individual “Sustainability Leader,” and the Federal Executive Board award for “Creativity and Innovation.”
