Salvatrice Musabyeyezu is a devoted conservationist and sustainable development professional.  She has over 10 years of experience in programme and project management to address conservation and development challenges using market-based tools. Her work focuses primarily on the coordination and management of nature-based enterprise, microfinance and other projects that contribute to poverty reduction, efficient use of natural resources and green production around endangered mountain Gorillas.  Some of the projects she managed improved the livelihood of poor communities and thus reduced conservation threats such as poaching and overuse of natural resources around mountain gorillas. She is proud to have contributed to the success of mountain gorillas’ conservation, who as species, have recently been promoted by IUCN from critically endangered to endangered species on the red list. Salvatrice is currently a consultant working with different organizations to provide support in the area of conservation based enterprise, climate change and green production, governance and empowerment of civil society organizations to influence policy and decisions related to their mission.

She holds a MSC Tourism and Environment with a minor in Environment and International development from Wageningen University/The Netherlands. She has a BA in economics and Sociology from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
