Ny Aina currently works for Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) in Madagascar as the marine policy & community development coordinator. His main roles include promoting sustainable management of fisheries, aquaculture and sea-based development activities in the WCS’s seascapes; aligning program activities with marine biodiversity conservation and fisheries regulations; and contributing to the strategic planning of the marine program and project management.
Prior to WCS, Ny Aina led policy advocacy and coordinated strategic partnerships for Blue Ventures’ conservation program. He has gained valuable experience in community-based management of natural resources, which convinced him that community management stewardship is the best option to effectively manage biodiversity hotspots in Madagascar. Ny Aina holds an advanced degree in water resource management and forestry and a Research Master in environment and development from the University of Antananarivo.
